w-0120 edituWykesha C. Hayes is a master educator, speaker, trainer, entrepreneur, and an outspoken advocate for ensuring that each child is afforded an exceptional learning opportunity. Since her young adult years as a college intern she has dedicated herself to addressing the educational, social and economic needs of youth and their families. Working as an intern for two Houston area non-profit organizations, Wykesha’s passion for leadership, team development, and program planning were exacerbated as a college student.

As a graduate of the University of Houston with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, minor in Health Education and Non-profit Management Wykesha is able to capitalize on theoretical foundation and her keen attentiveness to human behavior to build a formidable professional reputation. In 2002, Wykesha began her teaching experience in the fourth largest urban school district in the nation. During this time, she was recognized as the 2004 Houston ISD James H. Law, teacher of the year, served as Language Arts Department Chair and sponsored multiple student organizations.

In 2006, she graduated from the University of Houston- Clear Lake with a Master’s of Science in Educational Leadership and completed state requirements to earn her Texas Principals Certification. Certified in General Education and Special Education, Wykesha specializes in program development , program evaluation, professional development training, parent training, new teacher development, student program development, implementation and evaluation, inclusive school cultures and special education advocacy.

Simultaneously, Wykesha also serves as a Pediatric School Coordinator and professional development coordinator at a leading Pediatric Oncology Hospital in the world renowned Houston Medical Center. She currently coordinates support for all school services to patients and families living with leukemia, lymphoma, and osteosarcoma. Most recently, Wykesha served on the leadership team to oversee the accreditation of the hospitals private school, currently the only hospital school recommended for accreditation in the state of Texas and the 2nd hospital institution in the nation.
